AmeriCorps VISTA position PR/Outreach VISTA  Capture minds and hearts for Habitat for Humanity!  Through a variety of multi-faceted print and media outlets, this creative, detail-oriented, and self-motivated team player will: Craft and customize Habitat’s message of hope to reach a variety of target audiences Design and produce innovative printed materials (including a quarterly newsletter, event materials and targeted marketing literature), a dynamic website, and other graphic materials such as presentations and videos Connect and cultivate relationships with media personalities, editors, writers, photographers in TV/cable, radio and newspapers Recruit creative volunteers for the PR Committee including photographers, writers, and graphic designers Support South Shore Habitat’s major annual fundraising events   VISTAs working on this project will gain valuable public relations, marketing and graphic design skills and expertise.  This VISTA will develop a strong portfolio throughout the year, while working with and learning from major media outlets and advertising agencies that volunteer for Habitat.   This position is a full-time, one-year position at South Shore Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization located in Braintree, MA.  This position offers valuable skills and experience that will be highly transferable to careers in nonprofit and many other fields.  At the same time, the position offers the personal rewards and satisfaction of working with families who are preparing to build and own their own homes through Habitat’s program.  The position is sponsored by the AmeriCorps VISTA program, which provides compensation in the form of a monthly stipend, health insurance, childcare and student loan assistance.  Please check out position details on AmeriCorps website.
